Why Core Aeration Is so important

April 29th, 2013

Roots need air, water and nutrients to thrive. Core aeration improves all three. Compacted soil lets the water run off instead of being absorbed to the root zone. Poorly aerated soil is more prone to weed and insect infestations. Aeration also dethatches by depositing thatch eating microbes on the lawn. Aeration with an application of grass seed is ideal as the seedsĀ  get into the soil and germinate and thrive.
